The Eurasian International
Medical Forum — 2025

From 20 to 22 May 2025, the first Eurasian International Medical Forum was held in Yekaterinburg, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The International Exhibition Center Yekaterinburg-EXPO became the venue for a large-scale professional event.

The Forum brought together more than 1000 participants and 250 speakers from Russia, India, China, the Republic of Belarus. The business program included more than 20 specialized sections, as well as a number of key events aimed at developing interstate medical cooperation, sharing experience and strengthening the healthcare workforce.

At the opening of the event, Tatyana Savinova, Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, spoke: «I am confident that every such event is an opportunity for healthcare professionals to expand their competencies, learn about the latest medical equipment and technologies, and engage in horizontal communication with their colleagues. In 2025 there is a steady positive trend in mortality reduction in our region. The task of all medical organizations is to strengthen this trend,» the minister stressed.

The key event of the first day was the signing of a four-party agreement on cooperation in carrying out preventive measures, medical examinations and follow-up of the working population at their place of employment. The Sverdlovsk Regional Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Federation of Trade Unions of the Sverdlovsk Region and TFOMS are involved in the implementation of the agreement. According to Tatiana Savinova, medical examinations contribute to the early detection of diseases, timely initiation of treatment, and reduction of risk factors. To effectively implement these measures, it is necessary to consolidate the efforts of all parties.

Additionally, on the first day of the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Indian Business Council and the Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region. Mir Farooq, Vice President of the Indian Business Council, noted: “We need to develop our relations and medicine too, because India has gone very far.… New research, new innovations, new drugs will be for the BRICS countries.”

A specialized medical exhibition was held within the framework of the forum, where more than a thousand pieces of modern equipment were presented — diagnostic (including 3D and 4D technologies), laboratory, and surgical. Workshops and interactive demonstrations were also held at the site.

The forum program included sections in the following areas: rehabilitation, oncology and radiology, cardiology, pediatrics and neonatology, primary care, endocrinology, coloproctology, laboratory diagnostics, otorhinolaryngology, production of medicines and medical equipment, male and female health, prevention, sanatorium treatment, nursing, and other relevant issues.

As part of the event, the Sverdlovsk Regional Medical College held a first aid championship for schoolchildren and students, as well as presented volunteer initiatives aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

“The role of secondary medical personnel is increasing every year. Our college is a key platform for the training and advanced training of mid-level healthcare professionals,” said Irina Levina, Chief Freelance Specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for nursing management in the Ural Federal District and the Sverdlovsk Region, Director of the Sverdlovsk Region Medical College.

A separate historical and educational program was held within the framework of the forum. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the interactive museum project «For the Sake of Life on Earth», organized by the medical college in collaboration with the Russian Red Cross and the Museum of Medical History. The exhibition featured a reconstruction of an evacuation hospital from the Great Patriotic War, as well as unique photographs and materials that tell the story of the heroic efforts of Ural medical professionals in the rear.

«Our events are related to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Many thanks to the guys from the medical college who participated in the reconstruction of the evacuation hospital. Only in such a succession of generations, in our genetic memory, is our future,» Tatiana Savinova emphasized.

The holding of the Eurasian International Medical Forum has become an important step towards expanding international cooperation, exchanging best practices and strengthening the human potential of healthcare. The Forum demonstrated the high interest of the professional community in the formation of modern, affordable and technological medicine in the BRICS and EAEU space.
